About the Course
Global Wildlife Resources (GWR) is offering a special 3-day wildlife chemical immobilization course April 21-23, 2026 (Tuesday-Thursday) at the Aaniiih Nakoda College in Harlem MT. The course is for tribal members and tribal college students by invitation only. This course the most current &comprehensive chemical capture training in North America, with field-based instruction customized to the needs of participants. This course with co-instructors Mark Johnson DVM (CEO, GWR) and Terry Lincoln (Director, Dakoa Zoo) will focus on buffalo chemical immobilization with coverage of other wildlife species.
Hands-on Labs Each Day
- Drug Delivery Systems - opportunity to practice the most effective projectors (dart guns)
- Needle &Syringe Skills - building professional habits for practical field use and human safety
- Blood Collection Practice Station - practice proper techniques for successful blood collection
- Practice Immobilizaton Lab - participants will chemically immobilize large show heifer
- Final Field Day - participants will dart and
chemically immobilize buffalo bulls
